Photos of Arctic Shipwreck 175 Years Ago

Canadian authorities have released amazing images of a shipwreck discovered in the Arctic. The vessel is believed to be one of two lost ships from the Franklin Expedition, which set sail in 1845.The ship is either the HMS Erebus or HMS Terror. Both vessels became icebound around King William Island. All 128 crewmembers plus expedition leader John Franklin died in the days, weeks and months that followed.  Erebus and Terror were considered technological wonders in their day. They had survived an expedition to Antarctica, but their iron-reinforced hulls proved to be no match for the Canadian Arctic, said Live Science.
