Russia has conducted its first strikes near Homs after effectively warning the US to stay out of the sky.
This comes just a day after President Obama met with Russian President Putin at the UN Council. This morning, a Russian General went to US Forces in Baghdad Iraq and warned them of the impending attacks.
The Russians told the United States that it should not fly U.S. warplanes in Syria, but gave no geographical information about where Russia planned to strike. The senior official said U.S. missions are continuing as normal.
The US Pentagon claims that Russian strikes are not only targeting ISIS but also on Anti-Assad insurgents. Many are claiming this move by Putin has caught the Obama Administration and could lead to decades of US progress lost in the Middle East, positioning Russia as a new world power rising.
