President Trump Drops the ‘Mother of All Bombs’ on ISIS VIDEO

Breaking: President Donald Trump drops the Mother of All Bombs, the US Military’s largest most powerful non-nuclear bomb on Islamic Terrorists in Afghanistan.

The GBU-43/B Massive Ordnance Air Blast (MOAB commonly known as the Mother of All Bombs) is a large-yield conventional (non-nuclear) bomb, developed for the United States military by Albert L. Weimorts, Jr. of the Air Force Research Laboratory. At the time of development, it was touted as the most powerful non-nuclear weapon ever designed. The bomb was designed to be delivered by a C-130 Hercules, primarily the MC-130E Combat Talon I or MC-130H Combat Talon II variants.

Since then, Russia has tested its “Father of All Bombs”, which is claimed to be four times as powerful as the MOAB.

“The strike was designed to minimize the risk to Afghan and U.S. forces conducting clearing operations in the area while maximizing the destruction” to the militants, the statement said reported by LA Times.

Army Gen. John W. Nicholson, commander of U.S. forces in Afghanistan, said the militants used bunkers and tunnels to “thicken their defense.”

“This is the right munition to reduce these obstacles and maintain the momentum of our offensive,” Nicholson said.

White House spokesman Sean Spicer said the massive bomb targeted tunnels and caves that militants “used to move around freely, making it easier for them to target U.S. military advisors and Afghan forces in the area.”

He said U.S. commanders “took all precautions necessary to prevent civilian casualties and collateral damage as a result of the operation.”

This is the first time this bomb weighing in at 21,000lbs has been used in combat, the bomb is so large that the best way to deploy it is to load it onto a cargo bay of an aircraft and just simply drop it out the back. The MOAB hit a series of underground tunnels used by the Islamic State.

President Trump didn’t personally order the MOAB drop, but he stated today that he authorized his Military to make these judgement calls when fighting ISIS. More has been done against ISIS in the past 8 weeks compared to the last 8 years of President Obama.
